The PPop flag-bearer SB19 released the MV for their comeback single “What?” last March 9.
The MV, along with the digital single, was released as planned even after the management announced that the virtual music launch, which was scheduled on the same day, was postponed. The members had to go under quarantine after getting themselves exposed to a COVID-19 positive person.
There is still no update on when the event will push through.
The music video, which talks about self-love and empowerment, made it to Twitter’s #1 spot, both in the Philippines and worldwide trends, just a few hours after being released on YouTube. It garnered 1M views and made it to #1 spot on TRENDING videos 18 hours after its release.
Twenty-four hours after it premiered, the MV gained a whopping 1.4M views.
Although trained and managed by a Korean entertainment company, ShowBT, the group humbly refuses to associate themselves with KPOP. They consider themselves a PPop group, short for Pinoy Pop which is another term for Filipino Pop.
The PPop sensation also released an MV teaser which gained 500k views on YouTube two days after it was released.
