Yes, the movie, which is entitled Seo Bok, was supposed to be shown in December last year, but it was postponed due to the pandemic. The film, which is rumored to cost 16.5 billion won to produce, will be simultaneously shown in theatres and via TVING, an online streaming platform.
The filming began in May 2019. Joining the powerful duo is veteran actress Jan Young Nam.
Seo Bok is a sci-fi action movie about a former agent Ki Heon (played by Gong Yoo) whose mission is to protect the first mutated human clone Seo Bok (played by Park Bo Gum).
In a recent interview with Esquire Korea where Gong Yoo did a cover shoot, he said that aside from Seo Book, fans have a lot to watch out for. Aside from his other upcoming movie, Wonderland, he is also set to do another drama entitled “The Silent Sea.”
The veteran actor last appeared in the small screen in 2016-2017 with the hit drama, “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God.” His 2016 movie, Train to Busan, was also a big hit both locally and internationally.
Park Bo Gum, on the other hand, enlisted in the mandatory military service in August last year. The Seo Bok movie is like his farewell gift to his fans as he goes inactive for the next 18 months after enlisting.
Park Bo Gum’s most recent drama is “Record of Youth” which was aired on TVN from September to October 2020. He also did a lead role in 2018’s “Encounter” with one of the most sought-after actresses in SoKor, Song Hye Kyo.
It has been years since the actor did a movie via the 2015 award-winning film Coin Locker Girl. Park Bo Gum also plays a part in the upcoming movie, Wonderland, in which Gong Yoo is also a part of.
Both actors will be playing the same character. Gong Yoo will play the character in his 40s while Park Bo Gum will play its younger version.
